Development Final Fantasy XVI, appears to be reaching its final stage, according to a new job page on the Japanese official website Square Enix. According to the information provided there, the game’s basic development and script are complete, and the development team is now focusing on boss fights and expanding development tools.
The Final Fantasy development team is now looking for additional staff to continue development of the game. This page also states that there is still a time and place to introduce new ideas into gameplay and location production. From this we can conclude that the combat mechanics have not yet been fixed. All this information actually confirms earlier rumors that the game has been in development for several years.
Square Enix opened a teaser site https://gamesnotongamstop.co.uk/slingo/ for Final Fantasy XVI at the end of October, which featured a lot of information about the game’s universe and several concept art. Concept art will be posted at the end of the article for easy viewing.
The game’s plot will unfold in the world of Valisteya, strewn with mountains of crystals. For many generations people flocked to them and built cities that were at war with each other for a long time. However, now they are threatened by something more serious – corruption.
In total, Final Fantasy XVI will feature 6 states: the Grand Duchy of Rosaria, the Holy Empire of Sunbrek, the Kingdom of Valoed, the Dalmekin Republic, the Iron Kingdom and the Crystal Domain. The developers talked about Akons – the most powerful creatures in the world of the game. They live inside Dominants – people who can call on their terrifying power. In some kingdoms they are treated as nobles, and in others they are used as weapons of war.
The main character was Clive Rosfield, the first-born son of the Duke of Rosaria. His parents believed that it was in him that the power of the Phoenix would awaken, but fate chose his younger brother Joshua. Nevertheless, already at the age of 15, Clive became the first shield of the kingdom and stood up for his brother. Unfortunately, due to some tragedy, he is forced to take the path of revenge. Jill Warrick grew up with Clive and Joshua, but she’s originally from the Northlands. As a child, she was taken to the Rose Garden to bring peace to warring nations. Kind, helpful and modest, Jill became the brothers’ confidant.
