Well, firstly, because a lot of attention is also paid to technological innovations here. And secondly, at the presentation they clearly made it clear to us that the new iPhone may be a new gaming platform that can even supplant portable consoles like Steam Deck. And this is already..
Therefore, in this material I will tell you about the new generation of iPhone, we will analyze its features, flaws and find out whether this is really a breakthrough and revolution in the world of mobile gaming. First things first.
Let’s go over it briefly here, since the appearance is leaked online long before the official announcement, and only the lazy haven’t licked it. In general, Apple designers have a very difficult job: making the same smartphone year after year is not an easy task.
Therefore, the base model of the iPhone 15 still has the same material: aluminum and glass (of course, as every year, innovatively stronger than before), with the only difference that everything is finally matte and not glossy.
There will be four muted colors in total: three rainbow and one black.
By the way, there is no pure white color (not fashionable).
Pro’s: black, blue, white and natural.
True, all of them are also unusual – all with the prefix “titanium”, because the case is made of this very titanium.
Titanium is the main feature and feature of the Pro, which sets it apart from the regular version. In the last generation, the older model surprised us with a dynamic island and thin screen edges, this year the basic version received these features. Therefore, now the main difference is the material.
However, there is some sense in such a change: in comparison with the previous iPhone 14 Pro model, the iPhone 15 Pro has become 20 grams lighter, and this is actually quite a lot for a phone.
The devices have now become “softer” because all the sharp edges have been rounded and sharpened.
On the one hand, this is cool, it won’t cut your hand anymore. On the other hand, the design returns to the shape of a bar of soap.
We reassembled the interior – it is now more ergonomic and more repairable. Innovative, super-strong, broken glass will now be easier to replace and, most importantly, cheaper, which is very important for buyers of premium devices.
Another incredible innovation – USB Type-C. However, Apple lays out all the innovations in doses, and the data transfer and charging speed via USB Type-C in the iPhone 15 is limited to version 2.0. USB 3.2 is only available in Pro version. Because make USB 3.2 in the regular version and, for example, Thunderbolt 4 in Pro – it’s too early to touch, this is “for the new year” (and no, I didn’t make any mistakes with the register).
We added an unprecedented technology – a customized button instead of a volume control lever. Fans of the defunct Blackberry company brushed away tears of nostalgia for 2010.
Well, okay, stable design is, of course, good, and everything is clear with that. But what about the hardware?? What kind of hints in the introduction about the “game console”?
Well, firstly, inside is the new A17 Pro chip, created using three-nanometer technology with 19 billion transistors and six CPU cores. Neural Engine with 16 cores, according to Apple, has become twice as powerful.
Secondly, the GPU processor is now "professional grade" (whatever that means), giving a performance boost in games and with support for hardware ray tracing.
Here, an attentive gadget fan will correctly note that Apple every year declares that their iPhone is “twice as powerful, ten times faster” – why does it suddenly make the phone a “game console” this year?? And with the fact that Apple not only once again boasted of figures incomprehensible to anyone, but officially presented Death Stranding, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil Village, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which will be released on the 15 Pro.
Moreover, these will not be some cut-off mobile versions, but a full-fledged port. In addition, saves will be cross-platform, sharing with a regular iMac is supported (but not on Windows, that’s too much).
And this is already a pretty strong precedent for the fact that all this nuclear power of the new iPhones will be used not only to take photos in the bangram, but also for full-fledged adult game releases. In addition, it will be quite pleasant to play, the new screens promise a brightness of 2000 nits. True, 120 Hz, which is more relevant for games than brightness, has not yet been delivered, and the frequency remains at 60 Hz.
However, even 60 Hz will be enough, because games will run at only 30 FPS. Here you can uncover the old argument of console fans: “But it’s stable and without lags”.
What about the battery?? At the presentation, we were not presented with any numbers, only shyly stating that “battery life remained at the same level,” but I was able to find out the exact numbers for you. So, the batteries of the iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max received a capacity of 3349 mAh, 4383 mAh, 3274 mAh and 4422 mAh, respectively.
To better understand whether this is a https://nodepositbonuscasinos.co.uk/50-free-spins-no-deposit/ lot or a little, the same Steam Deck has a capacity of 5200 mAh, and they last for about 120 minutes of operation.
That is, the iPhone 15 will last about 40 minutes in the above games, and the 15 Pro Max will last about 80 (at best). But let’s not forget that Deck has physical buttons, which, whatever one may say, are better than playing on sensors.
But okay, here you can spread a little philosophy and say that for the iPhone there have long been external modules that turn the smartphone into a set-top box.
And it seems like this already looks much more serious. But again, “there is one thing” – the Deck has active cooling. Yes, smartphones seem to have everything thought out and passive cooling, perhaps in theory, with proper optimization and the moon in the owl phase, with the port of the game itself not made with crooked hands, will prevent the phone from turning into a hot brick. But as soon as your battery runs out (quite quickly) and you connect the device to a charger, no amount of passive cooling can handle it. And something tells me that playing will be at least uncomfortable. In turn, Deck (and any other console of this kind) will not have this problem.
Well, it’s probably worth touching on the camera, because not a single iPhone presentation is complete without these updates. But, as with appearance, although there are innovations, they are not the kind that make your palms sweat.
The cameras in the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have been updated to 48 megapixels with improved apertures. Also improved optical stabilization and pixel binning ability for better low-light results.
And iPhone 15 Pro Max now features a 5x optical telephoto lens, allowing you to capture distant subjects in high quality while keeping the device compact.
Cameras in iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max with a resolution of 48 megapixels and aperture 1.6 has undergone significant changes, improving photo quality and low-light shooting.
The most notable innovation is the ability to change focal lengths to 24, 28 and 35 mm, giving more flexibility in shooting.
Second-generation optical stabilization ensures great shots, even without a tripod. Pixel binning improves image quality in low light. Next-gen Portrait mode adds natural-looking background blur.
By the way, the examples of photographs that were shown at the presentations are really impressive. Another point is that good pictures are not always the result of the camera, but rather the direct hands of the photographer.
iPhone 15 Pro Max offers 5x optical zoom with 120mm focal length and aperture 2.8, without increasing the size of the device, thanks to innovative reflective light elements. These improvements make iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max cameras powerful tools for creative photography and videography.
What about money?? Now it’s worth thinking about whether it’s all worth it.
Price starts with American models with 128 GB.
Memory versions of 256 and 512 GB for the regular version add 100 and 200 bucks to this price, and for the Pro version 200 and 300 bucks, respectively. At first glance, it looks “acceptable” – but here you need to understand that “conditionally officially” such versions will not be sold here, you will have to order it yourself, which will add additional wood to the price. And, besides, the American version comes with eSim, which is not very convenient.
Therefore, let’s see what is there according to the versions for Europe:
Also for the 128 gig version. If you want 256 and 512 GB for the regular version, you also add 100 and 200, but this time in euros. And Pro’s are 200 and 300 euros, respectively.
And this is not even the final price, because although it is for Europe, it is for those who will buy there. Add here “plus shipping, plus taxes, plus beer,” and now prices start at 100K for a regular iPhone 15 and 200K for the Pro version.
In general, it sounds somehow too fat for how cool it is, but still a phone. Of course, iPhones have always been considered the most expensive devices possible, plus the course is very disappointing. But even the version for Europe in euros costs some unreal money. Such prices are forgivable for devices with some incredible technologies, such as a flexible screen, but, objectively, Apple did not present any incredible innovations.
Although, knowing the basic consumer of this device, there will always be buyers.
I think it makes sense to draw a conclusion from two perspectives: from the perspective of a smartphone review and from the perspective of Apple’s statements about a new gaming platform.
If you look at the iPhone as a smartphone, then we can say that the new models have a number of at least pleasant, but in fact minor improvements. It seems like the camera is better, the materials are more interesting, a couple of tricks were brought in, but… in reality it’s still the same iPhone. If you have a need for it as a smartphone, it’s better to look towards the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
If you look at the iPhone 15 as a gaming platform, there are doubts here too. Yes, it has become more powerful, yes, adult releases from larger platforms have been increased. But the battery remained the same (and it doesn’t boast autonomy even in standby mode), the 60 Hz screen and non-passive cooling – no matter how cool it is, will not allow you to play games for a long time, even if you tie yourself to a power outlet.
Well, and most importantly, prices completely kill all prospects. If you need a smartphone from Apple, look at the previous generation. If you need a portable console, look at Steam Deck + some flagship from the Chinese, it will be cheaper and more practical.
But if it’s the iPhone 15 that has sunk into your soul, then it’s better to wait. After the hype subsides, I think the price will drop to the American level, and this already sounds realistic.
That’s all for today. Like, subscribe, bell… you can’t put it here. Have a good mood everyone!

And typos in every second inscription are a feature?
You’re just too fast))) But it’s cool that Loev himself stopped by for a peek, how else would I have known about it)
It seems to me that this model can be safely skipped, because Apple will follow the path of Samsung – roll out a raw product so that beta testers will also pay to test it. In the next models they will finish it and it will work, or they will remove it altogether if it doesn’t work
Do you have equipment that you are reviewing?? Just a review hinting that no. If there is, then the content of the “review” raises questions. In particular, the complete lack of description of the sensations from the very gaming that this text is supposed to somehow narrate about. The information presented generally gives the impression of being publicly available, and the review is not relevant to what is stated: you want to talk about the iPhone as a set-top box, but only a couple of words are said about this in a small paragraph at the end.
In general, it is already clear to everyone that no one will play on this, but the word “review” presupposes independent experience of using an iPhone as a “console”, and not your speculations on this topic, even if they have some justification. Yes, it’s stuffy, but I don’t understand who this could be useful to: your second conclusion, marked with a red dot, can be voiced by any SG user.
If you look at the iPhone 15 as a gaming platform, then there are doubts
Try to tell this at the DTF – there they showed how they played Resident for 15 minutes and the battery was only 5% dead, although they didn’t specify whether this phone with disabled functions was purely for a test. Suddenly, many people believed that it was Apple that learned how to optimize consumption in such a way that all optimizations are optimized, and when you connect the phone to a charger, it begins to pump electricity back into the network
They say that if you connect two iPhones to one outlet, thanks to Apple optimization, it will begin to supply electricity to a small village.
Just about the typical ones)
Not a single white one on promotional materials, typical rear-wheel drive Apple
The fact that you can play and have released full-fledged releases is cool, of course. But overall the update is minor. That is, in simple words “for hamsters”. You can safely get the 14 Pro Max if you really want an iPhone and there won’t be any difference (only the body).
But on the other hand, I’m glad that App;e has at least taken a step towards normal mobile gaming. I never understood why, with such powerful hardware, I don’t at least port old games to them (unless they made GTA). I would love to replay HL or old NFS parts, for example.
It’s terrible, what does this mean, if these iPhones are suitable for everyone, then in 3 years everyone will be playing assassins in simple iPhones 18, and not in proshkas?
Cool. Until version 12, I didn’t understand why this mega-overpriced piece was needed, but first the iPhone was turned into a good compact camera with smartphone functions, now it’s an application for a portable one. Already something.
“cheaper, which is very important for buyers of premium devices.»
Somehow I doubt that those who buy such devices not on credit worry about the cost of repairs.
Or is this just about typical iPhone buyers??)
In principle, yes – Apple’s policy is that simple versions receive last year’s technology. They won’t add it next year, even if it takes off and works well right away, but in three years, graphics settings and AAA release on all types of handsets are quite likely
They’re worth nothing. Gaming platform is better than steam deck? Funny. Don’t be ashamed of them in 2023 (or 2024?) year to install batteries for 3-4 thousand. Cost as much as my gaming laptop (i7-11800H/16GB DDR4/1TB NVMe/RTX 3070 8GB 140W/17" 240Hz). Only I can play all modern games on my laptop, plus emulators work well (Cemu, Citra, DesMuME, Dolphin, DuckStation, PCSX2, PPSSPP, Riujinx, Retroarch, RPCS3, Vita3K, Xenia). I’m still going with my Chinese shovel for 16 thousand, let the hamsters buy iPhones.
To better understand whether this is a lot or a little, the same Steam Deck has a capacity of 5200 mAh, and they last for about 120 minutes of operation.
Apparently you don’t have a Steam Deck either and this is just superficial speculation on the topic.
